Overview
Animated Sticker Pack is a motion design project exploring how personality and emotion can be communicated through simple character animation. The goal was to design a reusable character system capable of expressing multiple emotions while maintaining visual consistency across a collection of animated stickers.
Rather than creating separate characters for each animation, I focused on developing a single character that could support multiple emotional performances through reusable assets, rigging, and animation techniques.

Design Process
Research & Concept Development
The project began with research into animated stickers, social media GIFs, and digital emotes. I explored multiple character concepts, including animal-based characters, before refining the direction toward a simplified lamp character that could communicate emotion through shape, light, and expression.
Character Design
The final character was designed as a stylized table lamp with integrated facial features and a simple geometric structure. The design prioritized readability, emotional clarity, and flexibility for animation. Color choices were intentionally developed to support different emotional states and visual moods.

Asset Creation
All character assets were illustrated in Adobe Illustrator and separated into animation-ready layers. Rather than creating every sticker from scratch, I designed a reusable asset system that allowed multiple emotional variations to be built from a shared visual foundation.

Rigging & Animation
The Illustrator assets were imported into Adobe After Effects and rigged for animation. Parenting systems, reusable pre-compositions, and organized layer structures were used to streamline production and maintain consistency across all animations. The rig was reused throughout the project to improve efficiency and support future variations.

Performance & Motion Design
The final sticker collection includes three emotional performances:
- Tired / Sleepy
- Reading / Curious
- Surprised / Excited
Each animation was designed as a seamless loop, with attention given to timing, secondary motion, facial expression, and emotional readability. Small details such as eye movement, light transitions, page turning, and reaction timing helped bring personality to the character.
Problem Solving
During production, I encountered challenges involving color transitions, asset conversion, and file management between Illustrator and After Effects. Solving these issues improved my understanding of animation workflows, asset organization, reusable rig structures, and cross-application production pipelines.
Outcome
The final sticker pack demonstrates the complete workflow of a character animation project, from concept development and illustration to rigging, animation, and optimization. The project showcases my ability to create expressive motion using simple forms while maintaining an efficient and scalable production process.
